Why?

Created by a Kawasaki VN1500 Drifter J1 owner to highlight the Kawasaki Drifter model(s), both 1500 and 800, above any other make or model of cruiser motorcycle to begin with. This site will not exclude other cruiser motorcycles but the emphasis, by default of ownership, will be the Drifter. Come one, come all.

It will also provide a means of product promotion (fibreglass mudguards front and rear, calliper cover, seat brackets, rear mudguard supports) that I have created, together with a rear mudguard for a Victory motorcycle, and sales of other pieces of Cruiser Rider merchandise that were created some years ago (bottle-opening belt buckles, exhuast badges, and other rotationally moulded skull-faced bits and bobs). More may follow.

As I have said above I’m not celebrating the VN 1500 in isolation, but I have to start somewhere and the Drifter 1500 is the bike I own and know, and to me it is the best motorcycle I have ever had.

Nor is there any intention that this site will compete with any other organisation, website, group or publication. I will not exclude any other cruiser, and all contributions will be welcome.

Provide your own ‘report’ about your bike (from a user’s point of view not just a poser’s position) – reliability, comfort, economy, flickability, ‘wow’ factor, etc, etc, I will allow fact, fiction, rumour, and urban myths about the Drifter and others to be aired and compiled in the search for the truth. For example: What is the Drifter and why does it exist? How many have been made. where did they go, grey imports and dealer experiences, and what are they like to ride, own and repair, sell or acquire. Why do the people who like the Drifter like it so much? (Replace Drifter with your chosen cruiser and tell us all about it, warts’n’all.)

Write to: philipmorris99@hotmail.com to begin with.
